Since 2014, start-ups, innovators, industry partners, and investors from all over the world meet annually in Paris to shape the worlds future at the “Hello Tomorrow Global Summit“. Plain sharing of research results or political discussions are definitely NOT on the agenda. Instead, the summit is a pure networking event with the mission to accelerate the transformation of disruptive technologies into solutions with impact to real world problems. An important part of the event is a TOP-500 startup challenge, which is open to participants from all over the world. The startups are grouped in different categories like Air Qualitiy, Waste & Water, Data, Food & Agriculture, Industry 4.0, Transportation & Mobility, Healtcare, Beauty & Wellbeing, Aeronautics, and Energy.
During the 13th and 14th of October 2016, the third Hello Tomorrow event took place – and MiCROW was present. Beside key notes of well-known personalities, like Michael Bloomberg (CEO of Bloomberg L.P.), Sijbrand de Jong (President of CERN) or Corinne Vigreux (Co-Founder of TomTom), networking was the main focus. As one of seven selected startups, we could give an impression of MiCROW during a 4 minutes pitch in the Industry 4.0 category in front of an expert jury, as you can see here.
It was also possible to get your hands on a lot of high-tech technology developments, e.g. a spray can with selectable grafitti patterns (Sprayprinter), probably the world’s most comfortable mattress (Eve Sleep) or a perfectly noise isolated sleeping pod for offices or airports. The main event of the summit have been the pitches of the winners in the different categories for a prize money of 100.000 Euros. The grand winner was the german startup Lilium, which shortly afterwards completed a financing round of 10 million Euros. To give you an impression of the grand final, you can watch all final pitches here.
The following party was just awesome; not only because Chivas, the Scottish whiskey maker, was one of the main sponsors of the event. We enjoyed the event very much and got in contact with a lot of intersting people with whom we are still in contact today. Every high-tech startup should give it a try to get one of the highly craved tickets. The next Hello Tomorrow event in Paris will be from 26.-27. of October, see you there!
